Unfortunately, I have to postpone release of ‘Mira Rai’. This has been a very difficult decision to make but what follows is an explanation of how I have come to this decision.
For the past 5 years, I have been studying for a PhD which has been a challenge while balancing career & family responsibilities. This balance has been manageable until recently where I have fallen behind with work that I am required to produce to meet PhD standards. Unfortunately, I am in a position that if I don’t increase PhD work output & immediately address this imbalance then I’ll be unable to continue & complete the PhD. The tipping point came during a recent PhD Annual Review conducted by the university where it was made clear to me that if I do not address my situation and increase my workload then I will be unable to continue.
I have therefore made the very difficult decision to postpone release of Mira Rai until March 30th 2016 to allow me to catch up on PhD work. I understand that this will disappoint a lot of people who have been waiting for the film release & I do apologise for this but as one person responsible for all aspects of the film from the filming to post-production & administration that includes fielding the incredible response from the media, film festivals & other parties while working on this in a voluntary capacity, I am unable to continue with the required workload that has had an impact on the PhD & other responsibilities.
For those who have pre-ordered the film via Vimeo, do not worry, you will not be charged until the film is released.
I do hope you understand & thank you for your support.
