After much thought, I have designed an online photography course. The last year has shown me how important it is to invest in others. Sharing skills and knowledge is one of the most valuable things we can do, and if through this course, I could share and impart some of the knowledge that I have learnt over the years as a photographer then that would be meaningful for me.
Course Structure
I am delivering this course using online teaching methods that draw upon my academic experience as a lecturer at universities both in the United Kingdom & Hong Kong and my experience of virtual learning environments/online teaching platforms. The first course cohort started in March 2020 and was full to capacity and I am now accepting applications for another intake that will start the course on October 1st 2020. Current students range in ability from beginners to professional photographers. I am happy to work with any level as this is a personally tailored course. This Online Photography Course is six months long and consists of the following:
- Six modules that blend theory with practice via online teaching videos and webinars every other week (bi weekly). Each video is around 15-20 minutes each
- Fortnightly photography skill tasks related to module material that participants submit for feedback.
- Working towards a final portfolio project that will be submitted at end of the course and be part of a print publication to show your work.
- Monthly personal video call (lasts about one hour) to reflect on progress and other aspects of development

Course Project
A major component of this Online Photography Course is a course project where students focus on a topic of their choice and develop this work throughout the course. The aim is to produce an exhibition of their images to be on display in the form an exhibition (online or physical).
