“Lloyd does not just take pictures, he gives so much to the viewer. Lloyd’s workshop provides clarity on how to master the most fundamental aspects of the tool, while at the same time, challenging the photographer to find their own, unique voice. Since the workshop, I have barely parted with my camera, leading to an opportunity to have my work exhibited for the first time. The Photography Workshop provided me with the knowledge and confidence applicable across many photographic fields.” – Sanja Burns [Singapore]

  1. Sanja Burns

Lloyd is without a doubt a superior master of his craft. Lloyd recognises camera as a tool for image taking but what really sets him apart from other (sports) photographers is his ability to transcend the obvious reality and transform it into something more profound. Lloyd does not just take pictures. He gives so much to the viewer. Lloyd’s workshop provides clarity on how to master the most fundamental aspects of the tool, while at the same time, challenging the photographer to find own, unique voice.

The workshop itself was well organised, focused and clear – conducted with great professionalism but more importantly passion. …stunning landscape, engaging subjects, inspiring and encouraging atmosphere…

Since the workshop, I have barely parted with my camera leading to an opportunity to have my work exhibited for the first time. The Sports Photography Workshop provided me with knowledge and confidence applicable across many photographic fields.

Covering both photography fundamentals and artistic tuition, Lloyd’s approach to photography is both technical and practical but also gives you a flavour for composition, artistic flair and general tips for being a better photographer – all in one day!

Coming at it from a sports angle where time is short to get the shot, he emphasises a good technical base with classroom sessions and provides practical advice out in the field.

Very enjoyable and informative workshop with Lloyd’s enthusiasm and natural ability to teach making it a very recommended course.

  3. Rachel Jacqueline

I studied photography for a year and learnt more with Lloyd in a day than I ever have previously. He’s a genius with light, incredibly resourceful and has a really unique eye. This workshop balanced theory with a huge amount of practice, and even an incredible hike! Not just a great workshop, a great day out with a guru.

  6. Den Enguillo

Our knowledge about camera and photography was next to nothing when my 14 yrs old niece and I joined Lloyd’s workshop but by the end of the day, we felt like experienced photographers. Lloyd is very professional, patience and engaging in the way he teaches. The afternoon session around the Lantau trails was stunning and rewarding. No matter what level you’re on, If you’re into photography the workshop is definitely worth going for.

  7. Clement Dumont

Excellent practical course. Lloyd really helps you to forget about the “automatic mode”and brings your photography to the next level. I was amazed how much I could learn within a day with all the tips from Lloyd who is very professional. Extremely helpful.

  8. Alexander B Macdonald

An excellent practical workshop. Lloyd really puts the theory into practical use. I play table tennis and tennis, I need to comprehend how to control my rackets. On this particular occasion, I am overriding automatic into manual mode. I have learnt once again by not letting my camera to take control on my images, I am loving it now by shooting my future images on manual mode. Good job Lloyd. It is definitely worth a change.

  9. Anne Prenez

I was truly looking forward to attending the workshop as am a fan of Lloyd’s work and wasn’t disappointed. I had previously taken a photo course and learnt more tips in one day than a few sessions. The course format, theory and outdoor practice, suited my needs. Lloyd’s passion for his craft is communicative, it was a fun day throughout. Everything was well organized and models and assistant were of great help too!

  10. JLK

The workshop is very well designed, pleasant, fun and casual, and at the same time practical and very useful and informative for amateur photographs who need to go the next level by controlling their camera in manual mode.
The focus on sports photography with models makes it very interesting and original.
