You can view the interview here「這6年間,我去過40多個城市,爬過100多座山,揹着相機跑過3,000多公里。」Lloyd娓娓道來當上越野跑攝影師的歷程。現年45歲的Lloyd Belcher,是國際級的越野跑攝影師。不但曾替National Geographic工作,其紀錄片作品《Mira》以記錄尼泊爾基層女跑手的故事,更獲得多個獎項,連BBC及FOX TV等平台亦有轉載。種種成就,原來源於大嶼山的山野。 居港近40年 願為攝影棄高薪 生於英國的Lloyd,7歲時便隨英兵父親工作來港,居港至今近40年。青年時期在大嶼山成長,是他愛上山野的契機。他說:「當時大嶼山沒有機場,沒有東涌。生活很簡單,就是喜歡那時自然的感覺。」喜愛自然,便頻頻往山上跑。從行山到跑山,由大東山到鳳凰山,再從鳳凰山到東涌,與山野建立出一種無以名狀的親密感。從大學畢業,Lloyd當上大學講師,因社會學研究的需要,他擅長用鏡頭記錄社會。成為攝影師的想法,便開始在他內心揮之不去。他說:「在大學教書,舒服得多。做攝影師,人工大減一半。但我擔心老來後悔,悔恨當初有夢想不敢追。」喜歡攝影,亦愛跑山。於是在6年前,Lloyd開始兼職拍攝運動。直至去年,他更正式轉行,成為全職攝影師。 越野賽跑,短則30公里,長則100公里或更甚。做越野跑手難,做越野賽跑的攝影師更難。他分享:「賽前攝影師有很多事情要準備。我自己會有一個檔案,記下跑手過往的成績。計算他們所需的時間,而我跑步追上又要多少時間。有些賽道我會事前跑一次,找出賽段間的捷徑,方便比賽時拍攝。」賽前要跑,比賽時同樣要跑。Lloyd指雖然大多數比賽,大會也會備車方便攝影師走動。但他說山徑路段多,車過不了,他們揹上器材,同樣要跑。為了應付多變的山野環境,Lloyd 每天至少也會在山上跑8至10公里作體能訓練。 因社會學的背景,他強調照片不單要有人,同樣也要有故事。他說:「我的想法是去考慮如何捕捉那個主角與環境,將環境融入越野跑的影像中。」談及照片後的故事,他說每個人看到的也不同。比如有一次在尼泊爾拍攝比賽,跑手經過當地的落後村落,村民對他們相當好奇。因此在照片中,他捕捉的不單是跑手的動作,亦有跑手與當地人互動的畫面。「一項越野賽,不止有跑手,還有環境與文化,我也想記錄下來。」 跑勻名山 最美是香港 […]
